The Non-CDL Advantage — And Why This Truck Doesn't Compromise to Get There

Most  non-CDL service trucks get to 26,000 GVW by scaling back the body, the  crane, or the compressor. This one doesn't. The Stellar 12630 crane on  this truck is the same 77,800 ft-lb, 12,000 lb capacity unit spec'd on  our Peterbilt 537. The 46P compressor runs 46 CFM at 175 PSI — enough  for continuous air tool use in the field. The TMAX 2-11 body has 60"  raised compartments, a full drawer and shelving system, and the same  master-lock stainless hardware found on larger builds.

What  you give up compared to the Peterbilt 537 is GVW, body length, and the  heavier chassis platform. What you keep is essentially everything that  makes a service truck productive in the field.

For  operations that don't want to manage CDL compliance, this is the  answer. More drivers can legally operate it. Insurance is typically  lower. And on job sites and urban routes where a 33,000 GVW truck is  harder to maneuver, the M2 106 is the smarter choice.
